NISARGA

NISARGA is an initiative intended towards the Preservation and Nurturance of our Mother Nature. We understand that biodiversity is the biological and social backbone that helps support our complete life systemhere on earth. It is a delicate balance between different kinds of life-forms, which includes birds, animals, plants and trees and their unique natural habitats. Biodiversity plays a critical role in balancing human needs directly with that of ecological needs upon which our very survival depends. Hence ensuring biodiversity is most vital for us and our existence and is an important key that helps measure the health of our planet.

Even after becoming aware of these alarming facts, it is disheartening to note that many are still not heeding attention to the already alarming signs of a impending catastrophe into which we seem to be sliding. With many species already extinct and many more on the verge of extinction, the unrestrained human needs are leading us into a critical imbalance in our biodiversity setup. Chances are that failure to address this issue on top priority may be leadingus closer to the possibility of our very extinction sooner than later.

Being conscious of these facts and its graveness, project Nisarga was initiated by Sanmarg with the aims of preserving and nurturing Nature. While prime importance is given to make earth a greener place, by planting more and more tree saplings, special emphasis is also given towards water conservation and fostering effective methods for recycling as well as waste management.

Our volunteers are our role models. As a beginning they set the pattern by planting tree saplings at their own homes and surroundings. Then word was spread through various schools wherein the upcoming generations were encouraged to participate in the process making the difference. Planting of tree saplings were also carried out on road sides and public places having sufficient space and convenience. Tree saplings of individual choices were also distributed based on the specific needs of public who wished to participate in the process.

With each passing year Nisarga is steadfast in making mother nature a better place not just for us alone but also for our generations to come.
